Course overview
This course will address how the up righting of molars and creating vertical force loads on teeth prevents abfractions, uneven tooth wear, and creates more arch dimension allowing for space to position teeth without the need for IPR.

Collisions are avoided and space is created to allow the construction of a UShaped arch for more tongue space. Additionally, creating arch dimension in the maxillary arch enhances sinus capacity.

The combination of sinus capacity increase and the forward movements of the lower jaw, provide patients will additional airway space improving their daytime and nighttime breathing.
Orthodontics as done above, is considered “airway neutral to positive” meaning the orthodontics won’t “jam” the tongue or distilize / retract teeth which will lead to complications and could introduce airway constriction leading to sleep issues and sleep apnea.
