Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a critical component of infection prevention in the dental setting. This course provides dental assistants and clinical team members with the foundational knowledge and practical applications necessary for proper PPE selection, usage, and disposal. Attendees will learn how PPE serves as a barrier against bloodborne pathogens and airborne contaminants and understand how to remain compliant with OSHA and CDC standards. Emphasis will be placed on donning and doffing techniques, PPE limitations, and how to implement protocols that reduce risk during aerosol-generating procedures.
